Katharine Huntley

Katharine is thrilled to be back at home serving Northeast Ohio as a member of the Cleveland 19 News team.

She got her first unofficial start in news as the eighth-grade anchor of the Hudson Middle School’s morning announcements. After that, she was hooked!

She’s back after more than four years as a reporter at our sister station WCAX in Burlington, Vt. along with stints at Fox 21 in Duluth, Minn. and a large public access station on Cape Cod.

While at WCAX, she earned a regional Edward R. Murrow award reporting on the migrant crisis on the northern border. She also covered the devastating Vermont floods of 2023 and 2024. As city hall reporter in Vermont’s largest city, she closely followed the city’s response addressing the drug and homelessness crisis.

Growing up in Northeast Ohio, Katharine was a competitive figure skater spending most of her time at Winterhurst in Lakewood. She then went on to compete for the Boston University Figure Skating Team.

It’s been her lifelong dream to be back on the shores of Lake Erie. She’s excited to dig back into all the stories that Northeast Ohio has to offer.

When she’s not working, Katharine loves attending Cleveland sporting events, figure skating, and exploring our beautiful home state with her husband.

She can’t wait to share your stories! Reach out to her anytime by email at Katharine.Huntley@WOIO.com
