Vasi Prokos
Reporter
Cleveland, Ohio

Vasi Prokos joined Cleveland 19 News as a reporter in April 2026. Vasi is a native of Chicago and attended the University of Missouri with a degree in broadcast journalism (MIZ!).
Prior to 19 News, Vasi was a reporter and anchor at WDKY-TV (FOX 56), in Lexington, Kentucky. She spent three years in the Bluegrass, covering several natural disasters, including flooding in Eastern Kentucky in 2025, a deadly tornado in 2025 in Southern Kentucky and a 12-day manhunt for Joseph Couch where five people were injured in a highway shooting in 2024. She also reported at the 150th and 151st Kentucky Oaks and Derby, providing additional coverage for NewsNation.
While at Mizzou, Vasi reported at the NBC affiliate in Columbia. There she discovered her passion for storytelling and explored other roles as a digital producer and desk assistant.
While in Kentucky, she immersed herself in the culture of horse racing and bourbon, as well as the love that University of Kentucky fans hold for their team. In Missouri, she embraced the SEC atmosphere at Mizzou, and the beautiful natural landscapes.
In her free time, Vasi enjoys taking long walks, listening to music, attending sporting events (Go Cubs!), traveling, laying in the sun, and binge-watching TV shows. Vasi is excited to call Cleveland her new home, learn more about the Buckeye State, and be a voice for the community.
